People can check out the work of South Shore art students and instructors at a pop-up exhibit this week.
The fifth annual Works in Progress pop-up exhibition runs through Sunday, March 31 in the Main Gallery at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at 1040 Ridge Road in Munster.
It showcases art created by students, instructors, staff and members of South Shore Arts, the regional arts organization that has served Northwest Indiana for more than 80 years and operates galleries in both Hammond and Munster.
“Each quarter, South Shore Arts has over 200 students sign up for classes in ceramics, printmaking, drawing, painting and mixed media. Beginner to advanced classes are offered for all ages,” said South Shore Arts spokeswoman Bridget Covert. “South Shore Arts instructors are working artists skilled in their mediums. Along with the instructors and students, many staff members, board members and members of South Shore Arts are artists who will also have their work featured in the exhibit.”
