PARKERSBURG – It’s promoting its own slogan “Practice Experience” Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. and its parent company Tri-State/Service Roofing and Sheet Metal Group celebrates its first century in business in 2023.

The group includes four generations of leaders and more than 1 billion square meters of professionally installed roofing. Beginning in 1923, with a service and location in Wheeling, the company is now a regional specialty contractor known for its technical and engineering expertise in all types of commercial roofing systems, sheet metal fabrication and HVAC/mechanical systems.

The Parkersburg division of Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal was formed in 1949 after the group acquired Smith and Burrows Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. It is among 12 full-service commercial and industrial roofing and sheet metal fabrication companies in the network today.

According to the group, the secret of its success is the knowledge gained through decades of construction experience. Clients often get to know the company through fixing leaks and other nagging building maintenance issues and contact us for future projects.

Safety is the No. 1 priority, he said, and has contributed to the company’s longevity and success.

The group is active in the communities it serves. When the National Roofing Contractors Association Roofing Alliance approached the company to help with Ronald McDonald Houses, Tri-State agreed.

Companywide, Tri-State Service Group has taken on the roofs of 11 Ronald McDonald Houses, including homes in Charleston and Huntington, providing inspections, repairs and maintenance to the organization.

Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal in Parkersburg installs, maintains and repairs time-tested and field-proven low-slope and steep-slope roofing systems by all major material manufacturers, including the group’s original product and service: installed roofs.

The company’s mechanical division provides HVAC, refrigeration, ductwork and dust-mist systems, including design, installation, emergency service, repair and maintenance.

Interior metal fabrication shops support roofing and mechanical sections with custom-made metalwork. Tri-State regularly works with industries to improve processes, material handling, access and safety with custom designed metal products.
