November 10th

Chest Fever presents: The Last Waltz: Celebrate the band’s legendary 1976 concert event, The Last Waltz, with Chest Fever & friends on Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Duling Hall. The show will feature a star-studded local brass section, with local guests playing the popular roles of the star-studded original cast, including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and more. 10-11 November

Harvest festival: The 2023 Harvest Festival at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum concludes Friday and Saturday as Small Town Mississippi comes to life every day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $8 for children ages 3 and up. Live demonstrations give visitors a glimpse into Mississippi’s past and show the impact agriculture has on our lives. Demonstrations include operations of the cotton gin, sawmill, sugar cane mill, printing plant, blacksmith shop and more. Wagon and train rides are available daily for $1 per rider.

November 11th:

Metro Jackson Heart Walk: The Metro Jackson Heart Walk, sponsored by the American Heart Association, is a family-friendly, non-competitive, untimed 5K run. Participating in the Heart Walk is about coming together, making hearts beat, honoring survivors, raising life-saving donations, and having fun while doing it. Check-in at the Mississippi Museum of Art begins at 8:00 a.m. and the tour begins at 9:15 a.m. Participation is free.

Holiday market in the old town: Join us for the 15th Annual Holiday Market this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main Street Clinton. Olde Towne’s historic brick streets will be filled with holiday spirit as the Christmas market officially kicks off the holiday shopping season. The market will feature more than 120 artisans and vendors selling a wide variety of handmade items.

Zoochilla Family Music Festival: ZooChilla aims to revitalize the Jackson Zoo concert venue by offering the 102-year-old Jackson treasure a fun, relaxed festival with music, food, community booths, a children’s area and great shopping. The festival begins at noon with musical entertainment from Blue Monday Blues Band, HeART2Soul, Vae, Lady Adrena and DJ Aziatikk Blakk. A variety of providers will be on site. Admission is $10 and children under 5 get in free. As a thank you, veterans admission is $5 at the door.

Township Blues Festival: This musical event will take place on Saturday at the Concert Green in the Township At Colony Park in Ridgeland. There will be performances by Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer, Cedric Burnside, Ghost Town Blues Band, Jarekus Singleton and Jimmy “Duck” Holmes. Opening times are from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets range from $35 (limited) to $100 for VIP accommodations. Presented by Wratchet Entertainment Group LLC.

McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour: The 17th Annual McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour is an exciting concert series featuring Hezekiah Walker, Anthony Brown & Group TherAPy, Bri Babineaux, DOE, Mike Teezy, Sir the Baptist, The Walls Group, Tim Bowman Jr. and host Lonnie Hunter. Hours at the Jackson Convention Center are 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tickets are free, but registration is required via eventbrite.com. Guests are asked to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities at the door.

11th-12th November

Picasso landscapes: Out Of Bounds: 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death, and the Mississippi Museum of Art honors his legacy with Picasso Landscapes: Out of Bounds, the first solo exhibition of the artist’s work to be presented in Mississippi. The exhibition opens on Saturday and runs daily (except Mondays) until March 3, 2024. The exhibition explores Picasso’s wide-ranging approach to the traditional genre of landscape painting. MMA is the final venue for this traveling exhibition.

November 12th:

Seasons and Holidays XI: The Concordia Ensemble presents “Seasons and Holy Days XI” on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson. Based on a lesson and carol format, the event offers a journey through the liturgical year through hymns, scriptures, poems and prayers. The ensemble is directed by Lynne K. Pickett. For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be livestreamed at vimeo.com/gallowayumc
