Bristol City vs LeedsFriday 8pm – Live on Sky Sports Football

David Prutton and Simeon Gholam predict Bristol City vs Leeds on the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast

It’s hard to know what to make of Bristol City’s Liam Manning so far. FA Cup results aside, league form is mixed. But it looks like he’s being given a chance to build, and next season could be where he really gets going.

Leeds don’t have that kind of time. A win on Friday night moves them into second place, temporarily. He is in great form and all he can do is win and hope the others finish. It should be three more points at Ashton Gate.

Prediction: 1-2 (Sky Bet luck)

Blackburn vs QPRSat 3pm

It may be against League Two, but this could be a huge win against Blackburn’s Wrexham. It would help stop the alarming decline that has been going on.

QPR got their biggest result in the league on Sunday. They would have liked to beat Huddersfield, but six points would be dangerous, so scoring late and taking a point would show real motivation. Can they build there in Ewood Park? I’m not sure he can. Your success.

Prediction: 2-0 (Sky Bet luck)

Preston vs IpswichSat 3pm

Just one win in five for Preston now. It’s turning into a disappointing season because of his good start. Getting to know each other can lead to ridicule and fans want a bit of excitement instead of always finishing at the table.

Ipswich probably don’t know what hit them at Maidstone in the Cup. It was a game they shouldn’t have lost and Kieran McKenna will have to make sure it doesn’t affect their push for the league. They should get them to check it out again, and I think they should put this one up.

Prediction: 1-2 (Sky Bet luck)

Rotherham vs SouthamptonSat 3pm

Rotherham will undoubtedly improve under Leam Richardson, but they are still nine points behind the defense and need to start winning rather than drawing games.

That cannot happen against Southampton, the best team in the Championship right now. Their recent form has been amazing. The undefeated run is stretching and stretching, and it will stretch a bit with a victory in New York.

Prediction: 1-3 (Sky Bet luck)

West Brom vs BirminghamSat 3pm

West Brom looked locked in the competition not too long ago, but a couple of recent defeats have seen the chasing pack move a little further. It doesn’t take much for that to happen in this league.

Birmingham are 20 as the week starts but it won’t take them long to climb the league as Tony Mowbray continues to make his mark. Can he cause chaos at The Hawthorns? I think they can draw.

Prediction: 2-2 (Sky Bet luck)

Middlesbrough vs SunderlandSun 12pm – Live on Sky Sports Football

Prutton and Gholam preview Middlesbrough vs Sunderland on the Sky Sports Championship Predictions podcast

It was a tough pill to swallow for Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup. After all that good work in the first round, that it was canceled out in the second round the way it did at Chelsea was disappointing. Michael Carrick probably needed another game sooner than this so there was no time for him.

He probably wouldn’t have chosen the local derby either. Michael Beale eased some of the odds on him with Stoke’s win, but defeat here means any positive belief from this result will be quickly dashed. They’ve been beaten in previous games – even with less than 10 players – and they can’t afford to let that happen again.

Prediction: 2-2 (Sky Bet luck)
