He was born June 27, 1945, in Brockton, MA, son of the late Wilfred and Natalie (Staples) Henderson.
Michael was raised and educated in Marshfield, Massachusetts by his parents, Nat & Biff. Mike and his five siblings enjoyed time @ the Marshfield Fair and family visits @ the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. In high school Mike was a Hall of Fame, tri-athlete in baseball, basketball, & football. His teammates included his brother Don, cousins, and his future brother-in-law. After high school Michael went to college for a year before joining the United States Army. While many of his generation were sent to Vietnam, Mike was lucky enough to be sent to Berlin, Germany. In 1967 Mike married the love of his life, Pam (Hinton) Henderson. After returning from Germany Pam & Mike started a family and Mike went back to college to become a teacher and coach.
After working in high schools in Marshfield and Cohasset, Massachusetts, Mike moved his family to Franklin, New Hampshire in 1977. He spent most of his time teaching his children (Erin, Becky, & Will) in addition to working @ the following high schools across New Hampshire : Franklin, Gilford, Belmont, Newport, Merrimack Valley, & Hillsborough Deering. A former teacher, his responsibilities ranged from teaching geography & history while coaching baseball, basketball, soccer, & golf. As the years progressed, he held positions such as Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

He was a Hall of Fame executive/musician/multiple sports player for over 30 years and was the father of a Hall of Famer when he drove the entire family across the country in 1982 for six weeks of cultural, geographic, and historical education.
After his children graduated from high school Mike had more time to play golf. He joined the Nashua Country Club and won the Club Championship in 2002. Although he loved the competition, he also appreciated the friendships made while playing cards and golfing @ Nashua. And he used to go to the beach with Pam. She loved walking along the Maine & NH beaches, holding hands and spending time with grandchildren.
The last 5 years of his life were difficult with surgeries for brain and thyroid cancer, but Mike did not let obstacles get in his way. When asked how he is, Mike answers “Every day is a good day”. He volunteered to take part in clinical trials by taking experimental drugs that would prolong his life and help future patients. He coached basketball @ Nashua North High School & played various sports until 2022 where he was always present @ sports events involving his grandchildren.
