The aerospace and defense veteran will lead the US’s high-growth global business unit
MCLEAN, Washington, November 13, 2023–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Intelsat, the operator of one of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial networks and a leading provider of communications to the US Government, has appointed David J. Broadbent as its new President of Government Solutions. Effective today, Broadbent is responsible for Intelsat’s government business globally and joins the company’s seven-member Management Committee. He reports to Intelsat Chief Executive Officer David C. Wajsgras.

Broadbent comes to Intelsat from Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX ), where he most recently served as president of the company’s Space Systems business unit. Broadbent spent 21 years at Raytheon in a variety of senior business development, program execution, contracts, supply chain management and financial planning roles. Before joining Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems team in the UK in 2002, he worked with Vickers Defense Systems in engineering design, supply chain and program management in both Germany and the UK.
