New company hopes to close huge gap in mental health care access in the middle of the southern half of the U.S.
DALLAS, Feb. 07, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Connections Wellness Group (CWG), a growing provider of behavioral and mental health services in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, today announced it has merged with Integrated Addiction Care and Vertava Health Tennessee. Blended Health, a newly formed platform company, is dedicated to expanding access to care for youth and adults facing severe mental health challenges, with a primary focus on group services, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Since its founding, Hybrid Health has operated 18 clinics in Texas and Tennessee, with plans to add more locations in 2024. Hybrid Health has more than 400 team members, including more than 300 medical psychiatrists, psychiatrist assistants, advanced psychiatric nurse practitioners and more. Serves as a licensed clinical therapist offering in-person and virtual therapy options in medication management, group and individual therapy. Blended Health will continue to operate under the consumer-facing brand Connections Wellness Group in Texas and will begin converting all of its Tennessee locations to the Connections Wellness Group brand in February.
Blended Health was founded and led by CEO Matt Morgan and sponsored by Summit Partners, a growth equity investor with deep and long-standing experience in the healthcare space. As part of the merger, CWG founder and former CEO Awstin Gregg stepped down from that role and began serving as an advisor. Morgan will lead a newly formed executive team to support the growth of Hybrid Health.
“This is an exciting time as we launch our company and continue to increase access to expert care and high-quality outcomes from our medical and clinical providers,” said Morgan. Providing PHP and IOP services to adolescents and adults in profound ways, connecting people to important issues in mental health. Our vision is to create a healthy society through positive mental health. The care delivered at Blended Health will change lives. We are here today The impact on their lives will shape the health of our communities tomorrow.”
Hybrid Health strives to be a leader in outpatient behavioral and mental health providers. The company is committed to expanding access and care primarily through Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), while providing a strong continuity of care through its employed medical and therapeutic providers.
CWG specializes in providing ongoing care for individuals experiencing mental disorders. Localized IOP and PHP projects provide those in need the opportunity to help avoid and prevent crisis situations and reduce medical costs incurred in local hospital emergency rooms. This would allow for more intensive treatment options from traditional mental health care and reduce hospitalizations for topical treatments. Programs are offered both during the day and in the evening, depending on the schedule.
America has a growing behavioral health crisis, exacerbated by a shortage of mental health providers compared to growing demand. Currently, many Americans experiencing mental health problems seek treatment for up to three months before receiving it, and less than 50% of adults and 70% of teenagers experiencing psychological problems receive treatment.
Blended Health’s mission is to expand outpatient behavioral health care services to youth and adults facing serious mental health challenges by providing a strong continuum of care that includes convenient, innovative and high-touch individual and group services.
