Davis Brewery Bike Loop opens at Club Pilates Woodland

The Davis Brewery Bike Loop invites people to enjoy a free bike ride with beer lovers to visit some of the city’s favorite breweries.

The bike ride begins Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Sudwerk Brewing Co., located at 2001 Second St. in Davis. The monthly event is organized by Sudwerk and the Davis Bicycle Collective and takes place on the last Sunday of each month, according to the event’s website.

The bike ride will make stops at Three Mile Brewing Co., Dunloe Brewing, Super Owl Brewing and finish at Sudwerk.

“All drivers must disclaim liability before driving,” the website said. “Upon completion, they will receive a wristband indicating they are good to drive and will be valid for $1 off 16-ounce beers at Sudwerk at the end of the ride.”

Club Pilates will be holding a grand opening event this weekend at the Woodland location featuring a raffle to win a spa package.

Located at 1849 E. Gibson Rd STE A in Gibson Plaza, the business opens at 8:30 a.m. Friday and will hold its grand opening weekend until 1 p.m. Sunday.

“Shop and treat yourself to the self-care you deserve all weekend long,” the event website said.

UC Davis will hold a Little Bang! Pitch + Poster Competition Thursday, February 1st, 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Gallagher Hall.

“Little explosion! It will help you define your business idea and convey it briefly in a poster,” says the event’s website. “This contest is open to all students currently enrolled at the high school, community college, undergraduate or graduate level. This is an entry-level competition; You don’t need any work experience to participate.”

The deadline to register for the event is Sunday, January 21 at 11:59 p.m.

After registration, an email invitation will be sent to the contest site and contestants will need to upload a PDF of their poster and client call summary.

“Entrants will have their poster printed by UC Davis Reprographis free of charge for the contest,” the website noted. “The 90-second vote is not part of the materials provided with your registration. The teams will prepare their pitches for delivery during the competition on February 1.”
