Dallas Lifestyle Brand Launches BUDHAGIRL Sparkling Wine » Dallas Innovates

BuDhaGirl, a Dallas-based lifestyle and jewelry brand that knows about the principles of mindfulness, is adding some sparkle to its product line.

The brand announced its expansion into the wine category with the launch of BUDHAGIRL sparkling wines — featuring premium California Brut, Demi-Sec and Sparkling Rosé.

Transforming the “daily routines” of life

Jessica Jesse Budhagirl

Founded in 2013 by CEO Jessica Jesse, BuDhaGirl was built on the belief that “life’s daily routines can be transformed into meaningful rituals.” Jesse, a model-turned-entrepreneur, created the brand after being inspired by Sai Sin bracelets handed out by Buddhist monks in Thailand.

With its jewellery, BuDhaGirl aims to turn ‘routine adornment’ into ‘intentional practice’. Each of his pieces—especially the “silent, waterproof and TSA-proof” all-weather bracelets—is designed to be a functional and symbolic addition to the wearer’s everyday life, connecting artistic expression with personal reflection.

Now the brand is pursuing the same mission with sparkling wines.

Infusing meaningful ritual into the ‘art of celebration’

With BUDHAGIRL sparkling wines, Jesse’s brand says it seeks to instill a meaningful ritual in the “art of celebration.” Taking a minute to “breathe, be present and express gratitude” for both big milestones and everyday life moments creates a meaningful ritual of celebration, the brand believes – bringing “a sense of belonging, connecting us to the self us, our people and our intentions”.

And now one can do that while watching all those tiny bubbles pirouette at the top of their glass.

“A vital element of the BuDhaGirl brand DNA is a focus on meaningful rituals and the benefits they bring to our lives,” Jessie said in a statement. “Rituals are simply small, thoughtful ceremonies that help us be present and intentional in our attitudes and actions each day.”

“BUDHAGIRL sparkling wines are our latest step in sharing the beauty and purpose of ritual by instilling BuDhaGirl values in the art of celebration,” added Jesse. “What better way to do that than with sparkling wine?”

Seeing significant potential in ‘categories far beyond jewellery’

This focus on ritual is “the foundation of our brand and applies globally to categories far beyond jewelry,” added Jesse. And more could be on the way — the company says it’s toying with sharing additional “different products and experiences” in new categories in the coming years.

The company says its wines have been “carefully crafted” in Healdsburg, California, by leading California sparkling wine producer Rack & Riddle, using the champenoise method for “sophisticated, yet vibrant” bubbles.

BUDHAGIRL Sparkling Brut and Brut Rosé are blends of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, while the brand’s Sparkling Demi-Sec is mostly Chardonnay with a hint of Pinot Blanc, the company said. The brand’s “feminine, yet uniquely bold” bottle designs are emblazoned with a golden dragon, aiming to express what the company calls “the physical embodiment of every BuDhaGirl—strong, thoughtful, joyful and present.”

The wines are available online and at select retailers.

The company added its first president and COO in October

In October, BuDhaGirl appointed it first president and CEO, Susan Alvarez, who previously held roles at brands such as Dormify, Banana Republic and Nordstrom; At the time, the company called the hire a “strategic move” underscoring its commitment to accelerate growth and operational excellence in the industry.
