State’s leading health plan launches new solutions to support women and families through fertility, parenthood, menopause and more

boston, February 5, 2024 /PRNewswire/—— Massachusetts Blue Cross Blue Shield (“Blue Cross”) today announced the launch of a new suite of offerings, including new clinical teams and expanded care options, to ensure women have access to high-quality care and resources and feel supported throughout their lives.

New reproductive health team
Blue Cross’ new reproductive health care team provides Blue Cross members with personalized support options and resources for a variety of women’s health issues, including support for diverse families embarking on their parenting journey. The multidisciplinary support team is led by an obstetrician-gynecologist and includes other women’s health clinicians dedicated to helping members find the right care, including:

  • Respond to member inquiries about infertility/IVF, fertility, abortion and travel extras
  • Explain the benefits and resources available to support each member’s unique needs
  • Share guidance on healthcare policy or authorization status
  • Advocacy support, including personalized expertise for members experiencing complex issues

New suite of care options with 24/7 support
Blue Cross has also partnered with Maven Clinic, the world’s largest virtual clinic for women and families, to offer 24/7 video appointments and virtual support throughout your reproductive health journey. Maven’s Maternity Foundation plan is available free of charge to Blue Cross fully insured accounts 51+. This plan is available as an optional service for self-insured accounts, in addition to other Maven plans for Blue Cross employer clients.

Maven providers span more than 30 specialties, speak more than 35 languages, and work with members on a variety of journeys, from birth and family building to motherhood, parenting, pediatrics and menopause. Through its different plans, members will receive strong support and services, including:

  • Family planning/prenatal support, including access to robust preconception care, referral to a high-quality clinic or facility, and access to experts in mental health, nutrition, reproductive endocrinology, and more
  • Labor and postpartum support, including virtual doulas, on-demand lactation consultants and career coaches to support return to work
