Tickets for the world premiere of “The Christmas Spider” by Clint Borzoni and John de los Santos at the Opéra Louisiane are on sale Friday, December 15th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 17th at 3:00 p.m. at the Manship Theater in available the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St. The opera is inspired by a Ukrainian legend that led to spider ornaments being added to Christmas trees for a happy new year. Louisiana’s Old State Capitol, 100 North Blvd., is showing “Iconic JFK Moments Through the Lens of Jacques Lowe” through Tuesday, Dec. 21, commemorating the 60th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s untimely death. The exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the private world of the Kennedy family through the lens of Kennedy’s personal photographer Jacques Lowe. Admission is free.
